I. Application Methods
Applicants must complete both of the following submission methods:
- Hard copy submission: Deliver to the Program Office (Room 95510, 5th Floor, Chi-Mei Building, Department of Electrical Engineering).
- Email submission: Send all required documents (Application form on the first page, all files combined in PDF format) to ais2m_picd@ncku.edu.tw.
II. Eligibility
Applicants for Direct Admission to the PhD Program must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Final-year undergraduate students (including early graduates) from NCKU who meet one of the following criteria:
- An overall academic average of 75 or above.
- Ranked within the top 60% of the class (or department).
- Master's students who have completed at least one semester from NCKU and meet one of the following criteria (Students admitted early to a master's program in the current semester are not eligible):
- An overall academic average of 80 or above.
- Ranked within the top 60% of the class (or department/program).
III. Required Documents
One hard copy (arranged in the order below) and electronic files must be submitted. Electronic files should be emailed to the designated address.

Download Application Form - Two letters of recommendation: Recommended by associate professors or above from the applicant's current or related department, institute, college, or program. There is no required format. Only hard copies sealed by the recommenders are accepted; electronic copies are not required.
- For final-year undergraduate students: Complete undergraduate transcript.
- For master's students: Bachelor's diploma, complete undergraduate transcript, and complete master's program transcript.
- Doctoral study plan, including:
- Research background and objectives.
- Research methods and procedures.
- Autobiography.
- Other supporting materials beneficial to the review process (e.g., published papers, reports).
