【Admissions】Notice of Application for Direct Admission to Doctoral Program (115 Academic year)
I. Application Period
March 17, 2026, 9:00 AM – April 9, 2026, 5:00 PM
II. Application Methods
Applicants must complete both of the following submission methods:
1. Hard copy submission to the Program Office
(Room 92512, 5th Floor, Department of Electrical Engineering)
2. Email submission of all required documents
(As specified in Item IV; the application form should be placed as the first page, and all files must be in PDF format)

III. Eligibility
Applicants for the Direct Admission to PhD Program must meet one of the following qualifications:
1. Final-year undergraduate students (including early graduates) from NCKU who meet one of the following criteria:
(1) An overall academic average of 75 or above
(2) Ranked within the top 60% of the class (or department)
2. Master’s students who have completed at least one semester from NCKU and meet one of the following criteria
(Students admitted early to a master’s program in the current semester are not eligible):
(1) An overall academic average of 80 or above
(2) Ranked within the top 60% of the class (or department/program)
IV. Required Documents
One hard copy (arranged in the order below) and electronic files must be submitted

1.Application form (Download)
2.Two letters of recommendation
(Recommended by associate professors or above from the applicant’s current or related department, institute, college, or program. here is no required format. Only hard copies sealed by the recommenders are accepted; electronic copies are not required.)
3.For final-year undergraduate students:
(1)Complete Undergraduate transcript
4.For master’s students:
(1)Bachelor’s diploma
(2)Complete Undergraduate transcript
(3)Complete master’s program transcript
5.Doctoral study plan, including:
(1) Research background and objectives
(2) Research methods and procedures
6.Autobiography
7.Other supporting materials beneficial to the review process (e.g., papers, reports)
V. Interview
1.Date: May 6, 2026 (Conducted together with regular PhD applicants)
2.Location: To be announced on the Program website by April 24, 2026
VI. Evaluation Criteria
- ◆ Document review: 50%
- ◆ Interview: 50%
(The same evaluation criteria as regular applicants)
VII. Admission Results
Admission results will be announced simultaneously with the PhD program admissions and posted on the NCKU Office of Academic Affairs (General Affairs Division) website.
