The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) are jointly calling for proposals for the 2027 Taiwan–Germany (NSTC–DFG) Bilateral Agreement International Cooperative Research Projects. Applications are now open.
Please complete the online submission via the NSTC website by 10:00 AM on February 23, 2026 (Monday) for internal processing. Complete proposals should be submitted to the NSTC by February 25, 2026.

Details

1. In accordance with the bilateral scientific cooperation agreement signed between the NSTC and the German DFG, proposals for the aforementioned joint research projects are hereby invited.
2. The project proposal must be jointly prepared by the project principal investigators (PIs) from both sides and submitted separately to the NSTC and the DFG. If either side fails to receive the proposal, the project will not be considered.
3. Selected projects will be funded under the bilateral agreement as project-based grants. The anticipated project start date is January 1, 2027, and the standard duration is three years. Appeals for rejected proposals will not be accepted.
4. Please find attached the Call for Proposals Guidelines and the English application form. Relevant information has also been posted on the NSTC website.
