Slide 1: This slide introduces the AY 2026–2027 AISSM Faculty-led Student Exchange Program. The program offers graduate students the opportunity to study at NCKU for one or two semesters while gaining international academic experience, semiconductor expertise, and cross-cultural perspectives.
Slide 2: This slide presents the academic calendar, English-medium instruction, and the study environment in Tainan. Most professors are able to supervise students in English, allowing exchange students to study comfortably while experiencing Taiwan's oldest and most culturally rich city.
Slide 3: This slide introduces the five degree programs offered by AISSM: IC Design, Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, Semiconductor Packaging and Testing, Key Materials, and Smart & Sustainable Manufacturing. Students may choose English-taught courses according to their research interests and refer to the program and credit transfer guidelines.
Slide 4: This slide explains the exchange application process, including nomination by partner institutions, online application, admission review, admission notification, and scholarship application timeline. Applicants should complete each step before the designated deadlines.
Slide 5: Exchange students may apply for on-campus dormitories or choose off-campus accommodation such as Prince Hall. Students are encouraged to arrange their accommodation early based on their preferences and budget.
Slide 6: This slide provides estimated study and living expenses, including tuition, accommodation, and monthly living costs. Under bilateral exchange agreements, nominated exchange students are exempt from paying tuition at NCKU, while other expenses vary according to individual lifestyles.
Slide 7: All exchange students are required to purchase overseas medical and accident insurance before arriving in Taiwan. Upon registration, students must also enroll in NCKU's student group insurance and submit the required health examination documents.
Slide 8: This slide explains the visa requirements for exchange students, including visitor visas for one-semester exchanges and resident visas for longer stays. Students holding resident visas must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) after arrival. Landing visas are not recommended for exchange studies.
