A. To strengthen the university's strategic positioning in the global AI development landscape, the Office of Research and Development is launching the "NCKU AI Summit Project," focusing on two main pillars: International Collaboration and Industry Collaboration.
B. Project details are as follows:
1. The project is divided into two categories: International Collaboration and Industry Collaboration.
2. Eligibility and Team Composition:
(1 )Each team must consist of at least four members, including a minimum of two full-time NCKU faculty or research staff from different colleges or research centers. One of the members must be a junior faculty or researcher who joined NCKU after August 1, 2019 (i.e., within the past six years).
(2) Principal Investigator (PI): Must be a full-time faculty or research staff member at NCKU, or clinical faculty primary appointed at NCKU Hospital.
(3) Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs):
a. For International Collaboration teams: At least one Co-PI must be a current faculty or researcher from a QS Top 100 international academic institution.
b. For Industry Collaboration teams: At least one Co-PI must be a current industry R&D professional at manager level or above.
c. May also include full-time NCKU faculty/research staff or clinical faculty primarily appointed at NCKU Hospital.
(4) In consideration of resource allocation, each faculty/research staff member may participate in up to two projects: one as PI and one as Co-PI, or two as Co-PI.
(5) Individuals currently serving as PI for the "AI Rising Stars Program" under the Minn Wu School of Computing may only serve as Co-PI in this project.
3. Project Duration: From August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2028 (3 years), subject to annual review and approval.
