International students enrolled at an overseas university that has signed a cooperation agreement with the Academy or NCKU, who engage in a short-term internship program under the advisorship of a full-time faculty member of an affiliated program of the Academy or an NCKU full-time faculty member jointly appointed by an affiliated program of the Academy, or who are approved by an affiliated program of the Academy to study in an exchange program under the cooperation agreement, are eligible to apply for scholarships in accordance with these Directions, which are not applicable to students from mainland China.
The quota of scholarship recipients and the amount of scholarship for each academic year will be set according to the budgetary operation of the Academy. The duration of scholarship for each category is specified as follows:
1. Exchange students: Those who are approved by an affiliated program of the Academy to study in an exchange program. A scholarship will be granted for a maximum of one year.
2. Research interns: Those who engage in an internship project of an affiliated program of the Academy for longer than one week. A scholarship will be granted for a period of one to six months, which can not be divided or extended.
Amount of Scholarship:
- Exchange students:
- A monthly scholarship of NT$40,000 for doctoral students.
- A monthly scholarship of NT$20,000 for master’s students.
- Research interns:
- A monthly scholarship of NT$15,000 for doctoral students.
- A monthly scholarship of NT$7,000 for master’s students.
In principle, each student is subject to a maximum of one scholarship award.
The scholarship will be granted on a pro rata basis for a part of month.
The Academy will not provide other subsidies to scholarship recipients.
